It Takes a Long Time to Grow Old Friends

SOLC 1
I LOVED being a part of the SOLC last year. It was an exhilarating experience, feeling the initial challenge of what to write and then the satisfaction of having completed a slice. At the end of the challenge, I was fortunate to win a key chain that says, "Write. It's Good For You." I have carried it with my keys all year with the pride of holding an Oscar. I had great resolve to continue this writing challenge all year. Alas, I must confess, despite this motivational fob, I didn't continue with my daily writing.(I did however think about it a lot!)

As this year's challenge approached, I argued with myself about jumping in again vs not adding one more item to my to do list. Since I am home for a week or so recuperating from some minor surgery, I had time this morning to read the posts already in a long list this morning. It was like reacquainting with old "friends"! Though I only know one slicer personally, I felt like I had come to a reunion. It brought back fond memories of the windows these friends had opened on their lives.

I have to join in. I don't want to be left out! So here's to a month of sharing, of stretching, of reacquainting with last year's friends and greeting the opportunity to meet new friends. Thanks for inviting me!

  1. Sue,

Glad you are jumping in again. I know it feels like I am jumping in the deep end of the pool too! We will have to help keep each other afloat. ~ Theresa

  2. Sue, since you are an old-hand at this, I look to you for some pointers on how to keep up. I have never done anything like this before, but I am taking the plunge with huge anticipation!

  3. I'm like you - don't wanna be left out! But this is only my first year. Still, your fob that you've been carrying like a trophy is reason enough to keep it up! Nothing like a tangible reminder that this writing thing is worth it. Not to mention those slices you can read over and over again when it's done. :) Thanks for the hope!

  4. I'm glad you're back...and I'm glad the key chain served as inspiration.
